– Printed Postcards –
This was a chance, as a student, to design something hands on; we were assigned to create a postcard using only letterpress equipment. All the students took a different quote from the famous poem 'Auguries of Innocence' in honour of William Blake and produced 12 identical postcards which were later sold to support local charities. I chose this as my final design after much experimentation because I loved how the bold, wooden type almost represented an echo of the quote I had chosen and accentuated the simple typography in the fore ground.
